Gare Andrade

I am GARE, a Spanish urban artist and muralist originally from Burgos, Spain, and currently based in Taiwan. I have been painting for around 18 years, with more than 12 years working professionally as a mural artist. My practice combines graffiti, urban art and figurative painting, using spray paint, acrylics and brushe. My work is strongly connected to public spaces, culture and the relationship between people and their environment.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Ba Jia Jiang represent a collective force: different individuals, different roles, one purpose.

Each figure has a different function, but none makes sense isolated from the rest. Together they protect, open the way, and maintain balance. Their strength does not belong to an individual, but to the coordination of the group. For me they start build part of the Taiwan culture.

Taiwan's semiconductor industry works in much the same way, an invisible network of people, knowledge, technology and precision, collaborating to create the foundation of a global digital world.
