3x | Nervape CAMP Series | Abstracted Tie Dye

For this piece, I wanted to connect the idea of a seed to my experience of Berkeley—a place where ideas, creativity, and opportunities can take root and grow.

I painted the figure with a brown background inspired by the earth, creating a grounding space for the colorful dots scattered across the surface. Each dot represents a different seed of possibility: the opportunities, people, ideas, and experiences that can emerge from being in Berkeley.

The bright colors are reminiscent of Berkeley tie-dye, reflecting the city's colorful, expressive, and creative spirit. Together, the colors and seed-like forms create a sense of growth, diversity, and possibility. Each seed represents something that has the potential to grow in its own direction, just as Berkeley can provide fertile ground for creativity, community, and new beginnings.
